Breda Telephone Corporation d/b/a Western Iowa Networks is looking for a full-time Construction Technician for their Carroll, IA operations.

Responsibilities include:

Places buried fiber optic and copper cable or duct systems using plowing, digging, trenching, and boring equipment.
Construction and maintenance of new and existing fiber and copper cable facilities.
Must be able to use backhoe, trenching and plowing equipment, mini-excavator and hand tools for construction, cleanup and restoration.
Locate and expose existing underground fiber and cable plant facilities, and identify other utilities after they have been located.
Keep up-to-date on County, City, and State permit requirements.
Keep County, City, and State officials up-to-date on plant construction.
Read communication prints, maps, and staking sheets for placing fiber, copper cable, or underground conduit.

Experience/Skills:

Backhoe, trencher, vibratory plow, and mini-excavator operation experience preferred
Fiber splicing experience beneficial
Individual needs to be very customer oriented
Computer experience preferred

Breda Telephone Corporation d/b/a Western Iowa Networks is looking for a full-time Combination Technician in Southwest Iowa.

Responsibilities include:

Install and support voice, video and data services provided by the company.
Installation, configuration and maintenance of WAN and LAN.
Installation, configuration of Key system (KSU) and Hosted Telephone Systems (PBX)
Installation and maintenance of digital, analog and ethernet circuits.
Locating of underground fiber facilities.
Fiber splicing.
Report and perform work as directed by the Outside Plant Manager in a safe and timely manner.
Complete service order and trouble tickets accurately in eLation software daily.

Experience/Skills:

Telephone System (KSU), Hosted Solutions and Voice Over IP (VOIP) installation and maintenance preferred
Installation and maintenance of Ethernet Internet Products or Broadband Services required
FTTH experience is preferred
Fiber splicing experience is preferred
Experience working with fiber test equipment (OTDR, light and power meters) is preferred
Individual needs to be very customer oriented
Computer experience is critical

Additional Information:

Individual would be required to be on call nights, weekends and holidays on a rotation basis with other employees
Ability to travel to all company service areas that could include overnight stays.
